Rileigh Timmerman
Performing Artist
Born in Seattle, WA, Rileigh Timmerman (she/her) is a New York City based movement artist. She graduated from The Ailey School and Fordham University in 2024 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance under the direction of Melanie Person and Tracy Inman. While earning her degree, she had the opportunity to learn and perform work by Roderick George, Maleek Washington, Levi Marsman, and many others. In her professional career, she has performed as a company artist with cat.astrophe! Dance Company under the direction of Cat Cogliandro. Among several project-based performances with cat.astrophe!, she collaboratively developed and performed in the evening length work that premiered at Arts on Site in 2025 titled βIs This What You Came For?β, a multimedia narrative-based work incorporating film, projection, and movement. That same year, she began performing as a movement artist with KAOS Dance Collective, a Filipino-led dance company under the direction of Nikaio Thomashow. Rileigh is interested in the intersection between dance and storytelling and how movement provides a digestible, universal language that is capable of communicating varying perspectives and narratives amongst diverse audiences. She teaches a weekly contemporary class in Hoboken, NJ at the beginner level, in hopes of making storytelling movement accessible to a wide range of levels in the dance community.
Rileigh joined Obremski/Works in 2026.
