Zachary Seto
2026 VISION Fellowship Recipient
Zachary Seto (he/him) is a Canadian dancer and choreographer. Influenced by the earth and the stories that humanity is currently living out on this planet, he connects his he(art) to the wounds of the world. His work offers unconventional invitations as portals to rituals of restoration.
Most recently, Zachary was commissioned by Ballet BC Annex to create A Dance with Destiny for the 2024/25 season—a world premiere that toured across British Columbia alongside works by Medhi Walerski and Micaela Taylor. His choreography has also premiered internationally, including at New York’s Battery Dance Festival, and across Canada with Dance Ontario as a recipient of their Creative Partnership Program.
Zachary is the recipient of the Frank Augustyn Award(2023), the Mississauga Arts Council Dance on Film Grant(2021), and the Dance Ontario Jacque Foesier Youth Award(2020). As a performer, he has danced works by Bill T. Jones, Alvin Ailey, Merce Cunningham, Trisha Brown, Roderick George, Olivier Coëffard, Jennifer Archibald, and Colin Connor. He is a former member of The Canadian Contemporary Dance Theatre and is currently a student at SUNY Purchase Conservatory of Dance. Zachary is honoured to be the recipient of the Obremski/Works 2026 VISION Fellowship.
